Key Stage Four - IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)

This is a two year program and it’s divided into years 10 & 11. Students are typically aged between 14 and 16 years old. In the first year of IGCSE, over half of the curriculum is covered. In the second year of IGCSE the curriculum is finished. The students are assessed through mock exams and Cambridge exams, which happen in May / June.

The curriculum covered in Key Stage 4 develops creative thinking and helps learners become problem solvers. It is accepted and valued by leading universities and employers around the world and is comparable to the standard of the GCSE examinations taken by students in the United Kingdom. Candidates who achieve grades A* to C at IGCSE are well prepared to follow a wide range of courses including AS / A levels. Many universities require a combination of Cambridge IGCSE’s and AS / A levels to meet entry requirements.

Students in Key Stage 4 take a minimum of 5 subjects, but usually take 9-10 subjects at IGCSE level. Their final examinations happen at the end of Year 11.

IGCSE courses require and include:

    • Mathematics (core or extended)
    • Science (one or more of biology, chemistry and physics)

  • Students can then choose from the following optional subjects to create their customised IGCSE programme of 9-10 subjects:

    • Geography
    • History
    • Sociology
    • Modern Foreign Languages including Chinese, French, German or Spanish
    • Business Studies
    • Information Technology
    • Art & Design

  • We also offer Serbian but it is not part of the Cambridge program so there is no formal assessment or certificate at the end of the course.

Who we are

We have been established as Cambridge International School since 2012. We provide comprehensive education to students usually aged 11 to 18. Our school is fully registered with the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and technological development.

We are based in Dedinje, Belgrade. Since our beginning, we have expanded from 25 to approximately 200 students and we keep growing.

What we provide

Our classes are limited in size (maximum 15 pupils) and lessons are planned to suit the individual needs of our students. All of our books are Cambridge endorsed.

Our school provides freshly made food for lunch and snacks. Also, we organise trips throughout the year linked to the curriculum.

We employ teachers who are English native speakers, and our international student body consists of students from all over the world

Our values

In the international environment that we nurture, students are taught dignity, respect, compassion and acceptance. We work hard with our student body on anti-bullying and celebrating our differences.

With the support of our highqualified teachers our students attend universities all over the world.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Parents as our Partners

We pride ourselves on the outstanding relationships we form with our parents. From a brief chat at the start or end of the school day to more formal discussions about progress during our regular Parent-Teacher evenings, we are readily available. Parents have a special role in education and are encouraged to become actively involved in their children's progress.

The triangle consisting of School-Student-Parent plays a vital role in education, where a role of each is the same and interconnected with each other. At Brook Hill International School, all the sides of the Education Triangle work together to achieve the healthy development of a child.

The education opportunities that Brook Hill International Secondary School provides can be life-changing, both for you and your child. Don’t miss out on this opportunity and ensure an excellent start to the long journey of your child’s education.
